Let’s all congratulate Queen! She is the winner of our April 2020 Chi of the Month Photo Contest! Queen is a beautiful merle long-haired Chihuahua, she looks simply adorable in her gold and pearl collar! Don’t ya think? Gold obviously because she is a Queen! I love her markings! Of course, I am a little partial to merle Chihuahuas.
Queen is also known as Beanie Boo because her mom says she looks like her beanie boo toy. She is 3 years old and is a registered medical alert dog. She became an official medical alert dog because she has saved her mama’s life numerous times. Jilleah has sudden drops in blood sugar (known as hypoglycemia) that make her pass out. Queen alerts Jilleah when she is about to pass out, so she can sit or lie down first and not hurt herself.
Queen loves to go to flea markets, fairs, and anywhere she can get a lot of attention. She loves to burrow under the blankets with her mom and dad. Queen prefers to be carried rather than walk (and why not? She is a queen, after all!).
She is a superhero because she makes Jilleah eat healthier. Queen only eats what her mom eats, so her mom eats healthier food. Baked chicken breasts are Queen’s favorite food but she also loves yogurt with berries. Isn’t that just like us Chihuahua moms? We care more about their health than we do our own sometimes.
Queen was an accidental gift from her daughter. Jilleah had never had a dog before and she will be the first to tell you that she couldn’t have asked for a better companion than Queen.
