What Are Allergies?

Just like humans, dogs can develop allergies to a variety of things. Allergies happen when a dog’s immune system begins to recognize everyday substances or allergens as dangerous. • Diarrhea
  • Snoring caused by an inflamed throat
  • Paw chewing/swollen paws

PetMd lists the following as common allergies:

How Can I Determine What My Dog Is Allergic To?

One way is to take your dog to your veterinarian. Your vet may be able to determine the source from your dog’s history. If not, your vet will probably recommend skin or blood tests. If it is a food allergy he or she may suggest an elimination diet.

This is the best way, but it will be expensive and take a lot of time. Is there another way? Yes, you actually can test for what your dog is allergic to right at home in 2-3 weeks time.
