Dogs need more than just physical exercise—they also require mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. Interactive toys are a great way to engage your dog’s mind, prevent boredom, and even improve behavior. Whether your pup loves puzzles, treat-dispensing toys, or tug games, interactive toys can make playtime more exciting and beneficial.
If you are not using these excellent tools to curb your Chihuahua’s boredom, or even to give them a sense of play, then you are doing a huge disservice to you Chihuahua! One of my favorites are Kong Toys. But I — and my Fab-4 — love Snuffle Mats!
SNUFFLE MATS
Snuffle Mats are ideal for the dog that scarfs his food down so fast he doesn’t even chew and/or is constantly choking on his food. This acts as a slow-feeder and will slow him down for sure!
They are also good for keeping your dog from getting bored when left home alone. Just load the mat and you’re good to go. These treat-dispensing toys are not recommended for aggressive chewers that might try to devour the whole mat! So, if you have an aggressive chewer, never leave them unsupervised while using the snuffle mat.
To begin with, sprinkle the kibble or treats on top and as your Chi gets the hang of it, gradually bury them deeper and deeper into the mat to make it a little more difficult for them to find.

My Remedy absolutely loves this puzzle the best. She is a high-energy Chi and it exerts much mental energy which in turn dispels her boredom! Just throw it in the wash machine with a safe gentle cleaner.
