This is Bella’s story. This post is a memorandum of Bella and sent to us by Nicole Anderson from Salt Lake City, Utah. Here is her story in her own words:

Bella’s Story Begins

“On a sunny day in October of 2004, I was passing Marks Arc Pets Shop in Taylorsville, Utah. I stopped in just to browse the store, but as I went past the section where they kept puppies there were three cute little chihuahuas in a crate. I had to hold them, so I asked the store associate if I could hold one. As he opened the gate for me, Bella jumped from the open door right into my arms. As I was holding her she crawled up my shirt and started licking my face like crazy. Right then and there, I knew Bella chose me to be her mama.”

Nichol And Bella’s Story Of Life Together

“Bella and I did everything together. I would take her out to all the shops around. Bella was super sassy and always protecting her mama, if anyone got close she would bark and let them know that they were too close to me. Bella was everything I could ask for in a furbaby. Later on in life when she wasn’t so frisky, but still able to travel. We traveled together to Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Zions National Park, and Bryce Canyon. It was the best car ride we experienced together. When Bella turned 16 we threw her the biggest Sweet 16 party.”

We Said Goodbye

“Time eventually started to wear on her tiny body, and Bella started slowing down. She was diagnosed with renal failure in May 2021 and the veterinarian gave her two weeks to two months to live. However, Bella and I knew that wasn’t enough time and that we would be able to celebrate her 17th birthday, and we did.”

From ChiChis And Me

Bella’s story made me cry. From all of us, Winston, Cora, Remedy, and I are so sorry for your loss. Losing a furbaby that spent a lifetime at your side every single day is a loss that will never go away. I hope in time the hurt will fade some and that someday you can open your heart to another little Chihuahua who needs a furever home; who needs you.

Nicole sent me so many beautiful photos of Bella, I decided to put them in a short video. A Bella’s story video. I hope you like it, Nicole. To everyone else, try not to cry when you watch it.

Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your beautiful Bella with us.
